Farm Bureau Young Farmers hold Leadership Tour in New Ulm Area

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) hosted “Leaderfest” on Friday, July 18 in the New Ulm area.

The young farmers toured Lola’s Restaurant, Christensen Farms, Frontier Labs and Schell’s Brewery. Following the tours, Representative Rod Hamilton from Christensen Family Farms shared his insight on leadership. The evening concluded with a grill out. The tour was sponsored in part by the Minnesota Corn Growers Association.

“The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers were excited to provide this leadership opportunity for young farmers from across the state to learn about agriculture in south central Minnesota,” said MFBF YF&R Chair Kelly Schmidt. “It was also a great opportunity to strengthen personal leadership skills which can be applied to our home communities.”

While in New Ulm, the MFBF YF&R Committee also met for their summer meeting on July 19.
