Clay County Farm Bureau Donates Book Bundles to Area Schools

Clay County Farm Bureau donated a bundle of 10 books to every elementary school in Clay County and to the Moorhead Public Library. The presentations were made throughout the month of March to celebrate agriculture.

“We are excited to provide all of the elementary students in our county the opportunity to read about agriculture,” said Mark Harless, Clay County Farm Bureau President. “Agriculture is an important part of our communities, and these books are a great way to show our commitment to education.”

Each bundle of books provides fiction and nonfiction books that focus on a wide variety of topics that represent agricultural plants and animals, food and natural resources. The book bundles also include an educator guide to stimulate appropriate discussion and extend student learning beyond the book itself. The bundles are assembled by Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC).

Book bundles were presented to the Moorhead Public Library and the following schools: Barnesville Elementary, Dilworth Elementary, Ellen Hopkins Elementary (Moorhead), Glyndon-Felton Elementary, Hawley Elementary, Park Christian (Moorhead), Robert Asp Elementary (Moorhead), S.G. Reinertsen Elementary (Moorhead), St. Joseph’s Catholic (Moorhead) and Ulen-Hitterdal Elementary.
