The Minnesota Farm Bureau (MFB) Foundation held their annual Golf Scramble on June 27 at River Oaks Golf Course near Cottage Grove. Seventy golfers among 17 teams competed in the event, and over $14,000 was raised with proceeds going directly to the MFB Foundation. Funds will be used for programs focused on agricultural education, safety education and leadership development. The winning team consisted of members of the South St. Paul Gun Club.
“The Golf Scramble is a great way to have fun and network while raising money for a great cause. We are appreciative of the generous support from our sponsors and those who participated in the event,” said Ruth Meirick, MFB Foundation Executive Director.
The Golf Scramble is one of four major fundraising events for the foundation. The other MFB Foundation fundraisers include the Sporting Clay Fundraiser recently held at Caribou Gun Club in Le Sueur on June 8, the pork chop stand at Farmfest August 1-3, and the annual auction to be held at the MFB Annual Meeting on Friday, November 18.
