For farmers and ranchers, agricultural safety is their best investment. Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation’s Promotion & Education Committee promotes safety and health in agricultural and rural communities.

   

Agricultural Safety Awareness Week - March 4-10, 2018 

Agricultural Safety Awareness Program (ASAP) Week is celebrated the first full week in March each year. American Farm Bureau Federation determines a theme for the week and the types of safety to highlight each year.

  • Monday: Hearing
  • Tuesday: Respiratory
  • Wednesday: Distracted and Impaired Driving
  • Thursday: Fire
  • Friday: General Health

   

Opioid Crisis in Rural America Webinar

The nation's two largest farm organizations have teamed up to bring attention to the opioid epidemic in farm country and provide information and resources to help those struggling with opioid abuse at FarmTownStrong.org.

   

During ASAP week, MFBF hosted a Lunch N Learn to bring attention to the opioid epidemic in rural America. Kirk Hughes with Minnesota Poison Control addressed the scope of the opioid epidemic regionally and nationally. The various abusable forms of opioids such as Vicodin, Heroin and Carfentanil were identified. Use of Naloxone was also discussed.
