In 2026, the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) is proud to honor 58 family farms whose legacy spans at least 150 years with the Sesquicentennial Farm award.
Established in 2008, the Sesquicentennial Farm award celebrates family farms who have sustained continuous ownership for at least 150 years, are 50 acres or larger, and are currently be involved in agricultural production. Since the program began, 681 families have earned this distinction, showcasing how Minnesota’s agricultural strength has endured because of the resilience and commitment of multi-generational, family-owned farms.
Honorees will receive a commemorative certificate signed by Governor Tim Walz, Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen and MFBF President Dan Glessing, along with an outdoor sign signifying Sesquicentennial Farm recognition.
A display featuring all Sesquicentennial and Century farms will be available inside the Minnesota Farm Bureau building during the 2026 Minnesota State Fair. An online database featuring all Sesquicentennial and Century farm recipients is available at fbmn.org.
