Luke Daninger of Washington County won the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) Young Farmers & Ranchers Excellence in Agriculture competition, held during the MFBF Annual Meeting Nov. 21-23 in Minnetonka.

Daninger is currently an agronomy sales manager with Ag Partners Coop, managing a team of sales agronomists over 14 locations. He also helps on his family farm, Autumnwood Farms, in Forest Lake. He is the fourth generation actively involved on the dairy, focusing on crop production and the overall business.

He is active in promoting agriculture by promoting its impact as a part of farm tours both for consumers and legislators. Daninger also serves in several leadership roles, including the Washington/Ramsey County Farm Bureau and Washington County Fair Board.

The Excellence in Agriculture Award is designed as an opportunity for young farmers and ranchers to earn recognition while actively contributing and growing through their involvement in Farm Bureau and agriculture off the farm. Participants are judged on their involvement in agriculture, leadership ability, and involvement/participation in Farm Bureau and other organizations.

Daninger advances to represent Minnesota at the national Young Farmers & Ranchers Excellence in Agriculture competition, held during the American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention Jan. 24-29, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. He also receives a $500 cash award, an opportunity to participate in a MFBF Farmers to D.C. trip, and registration and lodging for the 2025 MFBF LEAP Conference.
