Advocating for Trade
On Monday, July 10, MFBF Vice President Carolyn Olson had the honor of testifying on behalf of farmers and ranchers across the state as part of a House Ways & Means Committee field hearing at Schiefelbein Farms in Kimball. During the hearing, discussions included the importance of trade in agriculture, supply chains and more.
Connecting with Agriculture
Throughout the summer months county Farm Bureaus are busy connecting with people at a variety of events on and off the farm. Here are just a few of the events.

AFBF Fly-In
Young Farmers & Ranchers Chair Katie Wiese and Promotion & Education Committee Chair Cindy Durheim visited Washington, D.C. as part of the American Farm Bureau Federation Fly-In. While there, they met with legislators to discuss the farm bill and other legislation impacting farmers and ranchers in Minnesota and across the country. They were joined by MFBF President Dan Glessing and the MFBF public policy team.
Committee Outing
Members of the Promotion & Education and Young Farmers & Ranchers Committees came together in Fargo to plan for the 2024 LEAP Conference while learning more about agriculture in the NW part of the state. Save the date and join us for the conference, Feb. 2-3!
Farmfest 2023
Minnesota Farm Bureau took to the grill once again in Redwood county, serving its famous pork chops as part of Farmfest 2023. In addition to the food, leadership and members had the opportunity to connect with elected officials and farmers and ranchers from a variety of backgrounds to discuss the current happenings with the 2023 farm bill and much more impacting agriculture.
Foundation Golf Scramble
The Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation held its annual Golf Scramble on June 20 at River Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove. Nearly 80 golfers took part in the day, raising over $11,000 for the Foundation and its efforts to support agricultural education, safety programs and leadership development programs across the state.
FFA Officer Visit
The 2023-24 FFA State Officer Team visited the Farm Bureau office in Eagan to meet with leadership and staff members.
