Minnesota Farm Bureau members Arnie and Tyler Nelson welcomed Senator Amy Klobuchar to their organic dairy farm, Sunshine Dairy, in Hinckley on March 21.

Joining the tour were Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Peterson, Minnesota Farm Bureau President Dan Glessing, Director of Public Policy Loren Dauer, and other members of the Nelson family.

Arnie and Tyler, a father-son team, operate Sunshine Dairy, where they milk cows, grow organic crops for feed, and run a non-GMO/organic grain and feed business, Sunshine Organics Feed & Grain.

The group discussed key opportunities and challenges in organic agriculture, including certification processes, market access, and farm bill programs. Farm Bureau appreciates Senator Klobuchar’s time and commitment to hearing directly from farmers as she continues her work on the farm bill as a ranking member in the Senate.
