LeadAg Institute participants came together in Marshall for their third session, exploring the connections between food production, research and the culinary world.

Throughout the session, the class gained a strong understanding of the partnerships and processes that work to support local food systems and Minnesota agriculture.

The group toured the culinology program at Southwest Minnesota State University, before learning about food and value-added product agricultural research at the Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI). They wrapped up the session hearing from Atlantic Place Executive Chef Ronnie Walker about his connection to agriculture, and how he sources sourcing local ingredients to help bridge the gap and build understanding between consumers, farmers, and chefs through his meals.
