Red River Farm Network broadcaster Whitney Pittman Visser was named the 2023 Minnesota Farm Bureau Ag Communicator of the Year during the organization’s 105th Annual Meeting on Nov. 17 in Bloomington.

Pittman Visser is responsible for producing news stories for two 30-minute broadcasts daily, while also filling in for hourly market reports. Growing up, she was active in a variety of agriculture organizations, which helps to enhance her reporting for RRFN. Pittman Visser’s focus while on air is highlighting anything that impacts farmers and ranchers: Legislative happenings, educational programming, market movements, new technologies, crop and livestock diseases and more. She works to tell the stories that can help farmers and ranchers make decisions to be successful.

Outside of work, Pittman Visser works alongside her dad on the family cow-calf operation where they have around 40 pairs of Hereford x Black Angus cattle. She also appreciates the value of professional organizations, taking active roles with the Minnesota Cattlewomen and the Norman County Farm Bureau. This fall, she and her husband Adam will begin serving on the MFBF State Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee representing District 7.
