Have you heard of dirty sodas? These fizzy drinks—which are a base of soda with a splash of milk for creaminess—are a fun and festive drink you can serve up to both adults and kids at your next backyard barbecue.
Dirty Soda, Two Ways
Peach Fizz Dirty Soda
Ingredients
1 fresh peach, sliced
2 Tbsp. peach syrup*
Club soda
Dash of vanilla extract
Splash of milk
Ice (optional)
Peach slice, for garnish
Directions
Cut a fresh peach into thick slices, setting one slice aside for a garnish and placing the rest into a chilled glass. Pour the peach syrup over the peach slices to double up on the fruity flavor. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently mash the peaches and release their juices. Fill the glass almost to the top with club soda, then add a dash of vanilla extract and a splash of milk. Gently mix the ingredients until combined. Perch the reserved peach slice on the rim of your glass and say cheers to your new go-to afternoon treat!
Coconut Cream Cola Dirty Soda
Ingredients
1 can of cola
1 oz. coconut syrup*
1–2 oz. whole milk
Juice of ½ fresh lime
Crushed ice Lime slice and cherries, for garnish
Directions
Fill a 12 oz. or larger glass halfway with crushed ice, then pour in the can of cola. Add in the coconut syrup and 1-2 oz. of whole milk. (Tip: Pour gently for a pretty swirl before stirring!) Pour in the lime juice, starting with a small amount and adjusting to your taste. Gently mix everything together until smooth and creamy, then top with a fresh lime slice and a couple of cherries—and sip your way to a tropical state of mind.
