A total of six students received scholarships from the Minnesota Foundation for Agriculture at the 106th Minnesota Farm Bureau Annual Meeting on Nov. 22. 

 

The Paul Stark Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to deserving freshman or sophomore students enrolled at an accredited college or vocational-technical school and pursuing a degree in an agriculture, conservation or forestry-related field.

 

The 2024 Paul Stark Memorial Scholarship recipients include Alexis Hoefs of Le Sueur County and Mary Lanoue of Lyon County.  

 

Hoefs is a sophomore at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities majoring in animal science. Currently, she is active in the Gopher Dairy Club and Lambda Delta Phi, is the president of the Minnesota Junior Holstein Association, and serves as a Le Sueur/Scott County American Dairy Association County Dairy Princess. Previously, she was a member of 4-H in Le Sueur County, Tri-City United FFA member, and was a youth ambassador for the state of Minnesota for Midwest Dairy.

 

Lanoue is a freshman at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities majoring in agriculture communications and marketing. She is currently a member of Farm Bureau’s The Herd program and was previously a 4-H Ag Ambassador, and FFA Region 6 President. 

 

The Al Christopherson Scholarship is awarded annually to deserving junior, senior or graduate students enrolled at an accredited college or vocational-technical school and pursuing a degree in an agriculture, conservation or forestry-related field.

 

Recipients of the 2024 Al Christopherson Scholarship include Kendra Blaschko of Le Sueur County, Emma Kuball of Rice County, Owen Rozeboom of Dakota County and Ella Thome of Mower County.

 

Blaschko is a junior at Gustavus Adolphus College studying pre-vet and biology. At school, she serves as president of the Pre-Vet Club and is a member of triBeta (Honors Biology), the Chemistry Club, Big Partner-Little Partner and Delight Ministries. She was very active in agriculture growing up, participating in 4-H, FFA, and other outreach programming. 

 

Kuball is a junior at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls pursuing a degree in agricultural education. She is a member of the collegiate Farm Bureau and UWRF Dairy Club, and serves as secretary of the Agriculture Education Society. Kuball was the 70th Princess Kay of the Milky Way, and was active in FFA and 4-H. 

 

Rozeboom is a junior at the University of Minnesota -Twin Cities studying animal science and political science. He is active in a variety of organizations on campus, including Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, UMN Block & Bridle Club, Gopher Dairy Club, UMN Ag Business Club, Gopher Crops & Soils Club, UMN Undergraduate Student Government, Minnesota Royal and the UMN Livestock Judging Team. Previously, he was active in 4-H and FFA.

 

Thome is a senior at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities pursuing a degree in agricultural communications and marketing. At school, she is active in the Beta of Clovia Sorority, UMN Block & Bridle Club, Gopher Dairy Club, Ag Ed Communication Club and Ag Business Club. She was heavily involved in 4-H and FFA throughout her life.
