Abigail Bauer of the Medford FFA chapter is the winner of the Farm Bureau FFA Discussion Meet, sponsored by the MFBF Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee and Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation.

For winning the competition, Bauer received a plaque presented by MFBF Leadership Coordinator Rachael Peterson, and a scholarship to either attend the National FFA Washington D.C. Leadership Conference or to use to further her education.

Finishing second was Ambra Andrist of the Kasson-Mantorville FFA chapter. She also received a scholarship to either attend the National FFA Washington D.C. Leadership Conference or to use to further her education.

“The Discussion Meet is just one way that Farm Bureau works alongside the FFA to develop the next generation of agriculture leaders,” said Peterson. “We continue to be impressed with the students taking part in the competition.”

Also advancing to the final four were Keeley Runge (St. James Area FFA) and Ericah Folden (Brainerd FFA). A total of sixteen regional winners from across the state competed in the finals at the conference.

The Discussion Meet competition encourages participants to have a conversation about current agriculture topics. The discussion simulates a committee meeting with the goal of finding a solution.
