The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) is excited to announce its winners for the 2023 video contest. The videos submitted showcase how we use agricultural products in everyday life.

In the 11 – 15 age division, the winner and also Grand Prize Winner is Oliver Uhlenkamp of Sibley county. Oliver’s video shared about how agriculture relates to football! Second place goes to Eve McKay of Benton/Mille Lacs county with Honorable Mention going to Valerie McKay of Benton/Mille Lacs county. In Eve’s video, she talked about how baseballs are made from cattle and about how so many other products in the sports world are too! Her dog even made an appearance dressed as a Holstein cow. Valerie shared about how her favorite sport, fishing, is related to agriculture.

In the 16 – 21 age division, the winners are Chase and Addison Dahler of Benton/Mille Lacs county. This brother and sister duo shared about how cattle hides are made into different sporting equipment. Second place goes to Ryan VanPelt of Mower county. Ryan used his knowledge of corn to share about how corn is made into ethanol, which is just one of the ways that farmers produce more than produce.

The contest winners will receive a $200 cash prize, a t-shirt, and two admissions to the Minnesota State Fair. The grand prize winner will receive an additional cash prize and a movie night package!

The winning videos will be featured at Minnesota Farm Bureau booth at the Minnesota State Fair, food awareness programs and in the media.
