The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) recognized the outstanding work and leadership of its county and regional Farm Bureaus programming and outreach during an awards ceremony as part of the organization’s 105th Annual Meeting on Nov. 17 in Bloomington.

The County Activities of Excellence program recognizes county and regional Farm Bureau programming conducted during the year aligned with MFBF strategic initiatives: agriculture awareness, grassroots advocacy, member engagement and governance. 

This year 51 county and regional Farm Bureaus were honored for achieving goals set in at least one of the four strategic areas: Aitkin-Carlton, Anoka, Arrowhead Regional, Beltrami, Blue Earth, Brown, Carver, Cass, Chisago, Clay, Crow Wing, Dakota, Dodge, East Polk, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Headwaters Regional, Hennepin, Houston, Kandiyohi, LeSueur, Lyon, Martin, McLeod, Meeker, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Pine, Pope, Rice, Rock, Scott, Sibley, Stearns, Steele, Stevens, Swift, Todd, Traverse, Wabasha, Wadena, Waseca, Washington/Ramsey, Watonwan, West Polk, Winona, Wright and Yellow Medicine.

Additionally, the Premier County Farm Bureau Award is given to counties that achieved set goals in all four of the above strategic initiatives. In 2023, 36 counties received the Premier County designation: Anoka, Arrowhead Regional, Beltrami, Blue Earth, Brown, Carver, Cass, Chisago, Clay, Dakota, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Hennepin, Kandiyohi, Lyon, Martin, McLeod, Meeker, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Pope, Rice, Rock, Stearns, Todd, Wabasha, Waseca, Washington/Ramsey, Watonwan, Winona, Wright and Yellow Medicine.
