Members and leadership from the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation traveled to Washington, D.C. September 9-12 to share agriculture’s story with our state legislators and meet with other agriculture leaders. 

The group shared their farming and ranching experiences, providing personal examples of the impact of current and proposed legislation on agriculture in the state. Primary focuses included programming in the 2023 farm bill, Prop 12, drone use and awareness, foreign trade and more. 

Members on the fall trip included: Minnesota Farm Bureau President Dan Glessing, Minnesota Farm Bureau Vice President Carolyn Olson, MFBF District 6 Director Miles Kushel (Rock County), MFBF Executive Director Karin Schaefer (Wright County), Nathan Drewitz (Fillmore County), Shantel Koering (Crow Wing County), Addie Miller (Carver County), Kevin Dahlman (Wright County) and MFBF staff Loren Dauer, Rachael Peterson, and Virginia Magyar.

The Farmers to D.C. trips are held twice a year and are open to all MFBF members. The next trip will take place in the spring of 2025.
