Midwest supper clubs emerged in the early 20th century as rural and lakeside dining retreats. Hillcrest Supper Club • Hines

Hi-Lo Supper Club • Lakefield

Originally opened in 1946, and reopened under new ownership in 2023, Hi-Lo serves up both fine dining and a 1950s Rat Pack aesthetic. Its menu offers supper club staples, along with some upgrades like truffle fries and craft cocktails. hiloclub.com

The Hubbell House • Mantorville

While the restaurant was established in 1946, the building in which it resides was constructed in 1854 as a hotel. Weiderholt’s Supper Club • Hastings

Four generations of Weiderholtses have owned this family business since its inception in the late 1920s—though, back then, it was a grocery store, tavern and fuel station.
