Is membership just for farmers?
Anyone can join Farm Bureau.
Farm Bureau is working for Minnesota’s farmers, strengthening our rural communities, and investing in Minnesota’s future. Farm Bureau’s efforts benefit all Minnesota families. Farm Bureau membership also includes discounts and other valued benefits and becoming a member is a simple, yet powerful, way to support squarely behind the farm families who grow and raise your food, fuel, and fiber.
Why should I join?
Farm Bureau works to improve life in Minnesota for you and your family. As a member, you have an opportunity to participate in a variety of programs and outreach opportunities.
We provide an authentic and respected voice for agriculture policy surfaced by grassroots members. Farm Bureau’s strong advocacy work can be found at the local, state and national level on issues ranging from property taxes and school infrastructure to environmental regulations and renewable fuels.
We provide leadership opportunities for our members, including county and state level involvement in the Promotion & Education and Young Farmers & Ranchers programs. These two programs provide collaborative tours, collections, contest and networking events throughout the state. They also partner to host the annual LEAP Conference.
We provide opportunities for members to increase the awareness outreach by engaging with the public in schools, community events, the Minnesota State Fair with agriculture literacy promoting Minnesota farmers, families and food.
A Farm Bureau membership includes discounts and other benefits that offer value to Minnesotans in all walks of life.
What is the cost of membership?
The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation is made up of 78 county or regional Farm Bureaus. Because of this, each county or regional group determines its own dues. See the table below for what a membership will cost in your county.

Isn’t Farm Bureau an insurance company?
Farm Bureau is a grassroots advocacy organization. In the 1930’s farmers recognized they needed to protect their risks and they created an insurance service that could help. Farm Bureau Financial Services is a separate entity and is one of many valuable benefits available to Farm Bureau members.
