Food Awareness
Farmers and ranchers work hard every day to grow and raise the food on grocery store shelves. Food Awareness programming showcases their hard work, and helps create conversations between farmers and consumers.
County Farm Bureaus host a variety of events at grocery stores, food shelves, and restaurants to provide information on farmers and food. A focus for this year is maximizing your food dollar when purchasing groceries for your home, and tips for how to lower your grocery bill.
In 2022, 28 county Farm Bureaus received nearly $3,000 in grant funding from the Foundation to focus on food security in their communities. Partnering with local organizations and businesses, the counties leveraged their grants to raise more than $10,000 in support of local hunger programs, which can provide approximately 32,500 meals.
Contact a county Farm Bureau or Education Coordinator Pam Debele for more information and how to participate.
