FUNCTION: To create effective Minnesota Foundation for Agriculture (MFA) programming along with general office coordination and communication with the MFA board of directors.
AUTHORITY:    To coordinate the planning, organizing and implementation of programs for the MFA.
REPORTABILITY:    The Program Coordinator shall report to the MFA Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

MN FOUNDATION FOR AGRICULTURE PROGRAMS
  • Create innovative strategies in the development of MFA programming.
  • Coordinate and collaborate on various projects, activities, meetings, events which are held throughout the year, including on-site and off-site meeting/events (Farmfest, Ag Day Gala, MN Golf Scramble, etc.).
  • Facilitate the implementation of MFA programs.
  • Research and prepare grants and project proposals.
  • Create, organize and maintain accurate MFA donor records and databases.
  • Assist with donor relations, surfacing potential funding sources, and building long-term fundraising relationships with current and potential donors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the MFA Director.
OFFICE & BOARD MANAGEMENT 
  • Assist with the coordination of the American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Meeting, MFBF Annual Meeting and LEAP Conference. This includes securing contracts with hotels, meeting room arrangements, registration for staff and board and event coordination.
  • Provide notice and direct correspondence with the MFA board of any organizational meetings.
  • Take accurate meeting minutes during the MFA Board Meetings.
  • Provide some administrative support for MFBF.
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently, as a self-starter, in a proactive fashion to recognize necessary steps for successful accomplishment of projects and activities.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with people
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Personal computer literacy with skills and knowledge of MS Office products with ability to expand computer capabilities to develop additional skill sets for new systems as required to match changing circumstances.  Donor Perfect and Excel proficiency a plus.
  • Working knowledge of agriculture.   
  • Work experience in agriculture or related field.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry materials up to 50 pounds.

Job Location: Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation, Eagan, MN
Duration: Permanent full-time position
Salary Range: $40-50,000/year
