Communications Internship – Summer 2025
Minnesota Farm Bureau is seeking a creative individual passionate about promoting agriculture to assist in communication efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of agricultural communications while working for a grassroots organization that is proud to advocate for the farming community. The individual in this role will gain valuable experience in social media, feature writing, video production, website editing and many other facets of communications.
Responsibilities:
- Curate engaging social media content for multiple platforms
- Assist in photography and video production while visiting member farms across the state
- Create written and web content, including member feature stories, design work and editing
- Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
- Provide day-to-day support and collaboration to the director of communications and communications specialist on several projects and programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, agriculture or related field
- Firm grasp of social media tools and platforms
- Adobe Creative Suite experience
- Strong organization, time management and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
Start Date: May 2025 or at agreed upon date between intern and the director of communications
Location: Minnesota Farm Bureau office, Eagan, Minn.
Compensation: The internship pay is $15/hour, with expectations of a 40-hour work week. Occasional work outside of normal business hours for MFBF events and travel may be required.

Special Programs Internship - Summer 2025
The Minnesota Farm Bureau is an organization guided and directed by its 31,000 member families. Our mission is to ensure Minnesota’s agriculture vitality by amplifying its members’ voices through engagement, grassroots advocacy and agricultural awareness.
Minnesota Farm Bureau is seeking a self-driven individual to assist in our Foundation, agricultural awareness and leadership development programming. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of a grassroots organization that is proud to advocate for our farming community. The individual in this role will gain valuable experience in event planning, coordinating volunteers, networking within all fields of agriculture and creating program materials.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate volunteers and exhibit materials for Minnesota State Fair – August 21-September 1, 2025
- Assist with Leadership Committee Summer Planning Event for the 2026 LEAP Conference
- Mange Sesquicentennial Farm Family recognition
- Coordinate creation and distribution of agricultural literacy collateral
- Develop innovative resources for leadership and education programs
- Create promotional materials for programs and events
- Provide day-to-day support and collaboration on several projects and programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student enrolled in communications, leadership, or an agricultural related major.
- Clear and consistent verbal and written communications skills combined with effective interpersonal and organization skills. Must be self-motivated to meet goals.
- Working knowledge of agriculture.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Start Date: May 2025 or at agreed upon date between intern and MFB. Required to work through MN State Fair.
