We are currently hiring for a communications specialist, reporting to the director of communications. This position will assist the director of communications and MFBF teams with all communications efforts for the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of all internal and external communications efforts to ensure consistency of messaging across the organization
- Create, write, and distribute e-newsletters to key organizational stakeholders to share timely information and updates from the organization
- Develop and execute day-to-day social media strategies across multiple platforms to enhance engagement, grow audiences, and connect with audiences
- Support updates and content creation on the MFBF website, ensuring accurate information and organizational updates
- Collaborate with county Farm Bureaus and with special communication requests
- Develop engaging member stories and produce video features for the website, social media and other platforms that highlight the impact of MFBF membership, programs, events, and other initiatives
- Assist in content development for Land & Life, the quarterly MFBF magazine
- Coordinate the creation, design and production of advertising, marketing and promotional materials
- Assist in coverage of MFBF events, including capturing video, photography, and post-event wrap-up coverage on social, press releases, video recaps and other media
- Work alongside the director of communications on handling media requests
- Utilize analytics and other measurement tools to understand effectiveness of social media, e-communications and other communications outreach
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with social media platforms, with experience in growing and managing audiences
- Proficiency with analytics tools
- Experience with video production (filming, editing) preferred
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) preferred
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends with some in-state travel required
- Work experience in agriculture or related field preferred but not necessary
COMPENSATION:
This is a permanent, full-time position located at the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation office in, Eagan, MN. Salary range is $40-60,000/annually based on experience and job qualifications.
