Communications Specialist

Minnesota Farm Bureau is seeking a creative individual passionate about promoting agriculture to serve as the communications specialist. This full-time position will report to the director of communications and be responsible for assisting in all communications efforts for the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in coordination of all internal and external communications
  • Develop and disseminate electronic newsletters to key organizational stakeholders
  • Manage and execute the day-to-day social media strategy
  • Assist in managing content on the MFBF website
  • Assist county Farm Bureaus and other staff with special communication projects 
  • Develop member stories and other video features
  • Assist in content development for the quarterly MFBF magazine, Land & Life
  • Coordinate the design, content and production of all marketing materials


  • Bachelor’s degree in a communications or related field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Video filming and editing skills preferred 
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Experience managing multiple social media platforms
  • Some travel, including nights and weekends are required
  • Work experience in agriculture or related field preferred but not necessary
